The outstanding properties of TA6V ELI

TA6V ELI alloy (titanium grade 23) is characterized by its low density and excellent biocompatibility. Its low Young’s modulus makes it ideal for the manufacture of prostheses. Thanks to precise control of its production and processing, it has a fine, homogeneous alpha-beta structure. Composed of aluminum and vanadium, this alloy offers excellent corrosion resistance and high mechanical strength.

Common applications

The good mechanical properties and corrosion resistance of TA6V ELI make it the material of choice for many medical applications. Thanks to its recognized biocompatibility, Ti6Al4V-ELI alloy is used in the manufacture of implants such as prostheses and dental implants.

Quality standards

TA6V ELI meets a number of quality standards, including :

  • ISO 5832-3
  • ASTM F 136
  • ASTM F1472
  • ASTM B348

These standards mainly concern surgical implant applications. ISO 5832-3 defines the characteristics and corresponding test methods for wrought titanium alloy. ASTM F136 and ASTM F1472 specify requirements for TA6V ELI alloy.

ASTM B348 (Grade 23) covers titanium and titanium alloy bars and billets.
